The owner of a 46 foot sailing yacht under our management arrived on a visit with a complete set of new navigation electronics, including a complete new autopilot. The system included wind speed, depth and log transducers, GPS and an auto pilot with a hydraulic ram. SMS undertook the removal of the existing equipment, installation of the new system, including haul out for new transducers, commissioning and sea trials. CAD Drawings and system layout drawing were produced to update the existing literature and wiring diagrams.
Other work included the interfacing of the network of electronics to allow for the use of electronic charting software on the on board PC and autmatic loghing of important navigational information.
