A yacht damaged in the tsunami was hauled to assess underwater damage and was found to have minor damage to the keel but a rudder split open. The rudder was cut open and rebuilt. The work expanded to include the replacement of the complete teak deck and the replacement of all stainless steel stanchions, including pushpit and pulpit. Other items included a teak cockpit and a new cap rail, the result being a yacht that looked even better than it had before the damage.
