An aluminuim 40 foot catamaran underwent some repairs to plating and interior modifications to change the function of one of the four guest cabins aboard. Water was entering the yacht by an unknown route. A hole was discovered in the cockpit and which originally was thought by the owner to be a cockpit drain. 
Some investigative work soon revealed a large quantity of water had accumlated in the space below the cockpit floor and was emptying into the bilge whenever the boat moved. New cleats were welded in place and painted and thickness testing of the hull plating was performed to determine whether the hull was in good shape.
